Thriving in sun or shade, various soil types, and dry soil, it makes an excellent pruned hedge, landscape accent, or foundation plant. It can even be pruned to grow as a small tree. Dwarf Wax Myrtle thrives in coastal areas and emits a pleasant bayberry scent when its foliage is crushed.
